About the event
Let's hike the Geology Trail at Cincinnati Nature Center! Our hike will be a roughly 1.5 mile loop. The trail features unique geological features, three stream crossings, a small waterfall, and a great workout up 197 steps! Winter is one of my favorite times to hike the Geology Trail since the bare trees along the ridgeline offer stunning panoramic views of the landscape's topography in all directions. This trail is rated as difficult due to some steep inclines, and we'll hike at an intermediate pace of roughly 2 mph (quick enough to raise your heart rate, but slow enough to chat with other hikers). Optional: If the group is interested, we could head to Old Milford for food/drinks afterwards. IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Cincinnati Nature Center requires daily admission at the gate ($10/adult) or an annual membership. Hope you can make it!

Other notes including trail conditions or equipment recommended:
Please bring water and wear appropriate footwear. Depending on amount of rain prior, waterproof boots may be a good idea to make crossing the streams more enjoyable or easier. If snowy and icy, traction cleats and trekking poles are nice to have for the stream crossings and inclines.

Where dogs are permitted they must be leashed and kept under the owners control.
