About the event
"It's cancer." The two words you never imagine or want to hear at any stage in life, let alone at the age of 40. After my first mammogram in March of this year, it was confirmed that I had Stage 1a breast cancer and I had a double mastectomy in June. 1 in 7 women and 1 in 1,000 men will be diagnosed with this disease. Without our family, friends, and neighbors generous support, we would not have the technology and treatments we have available today. Join us in solidarity and raising awareness ok this 2.2 mile, easy hike on October 15 and please consider sharing your monetary gifts with our team, Brooke And Bertie's Boobie Brigade, as we walk a 5k for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event on October 22 to raise funds for research. Thank you all for your support this year, and HERE'S TO A BRIGHT PINK FUTURE! https://secure.acsevents.org/site/STR?pg=team&fr_id=102858&team_id=2640537
