Crooked Run Nature Preserve is 77 acres along the Ohio River in southeast Clermont County. The property consists of woods, a meadow, observation blinds along Crooked Run, and wetlands. Winter birding here offers opportunities from ducks to raptors to six species of woodpeckers.

Cincinnati Hikes Bird Hike
Have you ever been hiking and wondered “What’s that bird?” Here’s your chance to start learning the birds you may see and hear locally. No experience is required, the only thing needed is an interest in birds. Bird walks are different than hikes. We will walk slowly, looking and listening, with frequent stops as we attempt to get all eyes on the birds. Our goal is not to get to a destination, but to enjoy the journey. Your guide will be Kathi Hutton, a resident of the Cincinnati area for 35 years. Kathi started birding when she identified her first White-crowned Sparrow in her backyard in 1994.
