About the event

As we make our way into the colder, winter months, it's time to talk about transitioning how we prepare ourselves safely and warmly for our hikes. This course will cover everything from how to properly layer, what to eat, different traction options, how to keep your hands and feet warm, hiking with kids and pets, and more. This is a course both beginners and more advanced hikers alike will benefit from.

Trail Leader Name: Kathy "KB" Burr

Date: 11/17/2021

Time: 6:30 PM

Location: Roads Rivers and Trails (RRT) in Milford

Speaker: Bryan Wolf of Roads Rivers and Trails

Bryan Wolf's Bio

Bryan's first backpacking trip was 170 days through winter on the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia. That long winter trip would become the first of many as it remains his favorite time to get outside. Every year Bryan hopes to catch the cold front when heading out on back country trips. His wild winter excursions bottom out at -50 windchill at top Mt. Washington, NH. He loves exposing new people to the joy and wonder of winter and has lived up to his original trail name, Ice Man.
