About the event

Come hike with us in memory of Tim Applegate, a pillar of the outdoor community around Cincinnati and beyond.  Tim was an avid lover of the outdoors who enjoyed Horseback riding, hiking, and backpacking.  He was dedicated to making sure the trails around East Fork were maintained and ready for all to enjoy.  He also did work at many other parks and areas so all could enjoy nature. We’ll be maintaining an intermediate pace.

Trail Leader Name: Jason Scroggs

Date: 10/17/2021

Time: 10:00 AM

Park: East Fork State Park

Trail: Sections of the Cascades, Twin Bridges, Campground, North Perimeter Trails

Meeting Place: East Fork Lake State Park Bridle Trail Parking (This should automatically route you if entered in your GPS)

Mileage: 10+ miles but there will be multiple points to bailout if you are not up for the distance

Pace (See notes): Intermediate

Trail Rating (easy, moderate, hard): Moderate

Dogs allowed?: Yes

Other notes including trail conditions or equipment recommended?: Please always remember to bring water and wear proper shoes to your hike. Where dogs are permitted, they must be always leashed and kept under the owners’ control. Keep in mind a lot of these are also bridle trails so we may encounter horses. If you have any doubt of how your dog will react around horses on trail please leave them at home so we don’t get ourselves in a situation to have an incident. Also please clean up after your pet. Wear comfy shoes and bring plenty of water/snacks. This is East Fork so plan for and expect that there will be mud.

*Note: Beginners Pace is 1+ mph, Intermediate is 2+ mph, Speedy 3+ mph, or Runners 4+ mph.

Please rsvp accordingly. If you can no longer attend a Cincy Hike, please change your status. If you are running late, you must message your Trail Leader to let them know.

Please bring a mask for when you cannot Socially Distance responsibly.
